Sour gas poses both safety and operational hazards that must be managed. Sour-Gas Design Considerations examines the properties of sour gas and its effect on materials, with special emphasis placed on safety requirements and quality assurance.  It also includes a description of government regulatory agencies and their requirements, codes, and standards. Two appendices include respective guidelines for sour-gas production and storage facilities as well as for the purchase and fabrication of steel components for sulfide stress cracking.
