This is the first introductory volume of the history of the sources of Canon Law, and it spans from the ancient law up to the Decretum of Gratian. This time frame covers Sacred Scripture, Tradition, councils, and the collections of the Carolingian Reform and Gregorian Reform, to name only a few.
